Why I am on Council

I want to make a useful and lasting contribution to the City of Greater Geelong, its people, culture, economy and environment.

I can do this by applying the principles, knowledge and skills which I have developed over a lifetime of a challenging and diverse professional career. This is my opportunity.

My Vision for The City of Greater Geelong

My Vision supports the Greater Geelong 30-year plan for a clever and creative future. I see an environmentally sustainable, consultatively designed  and socially-equitable Council plan, carefully and well implemented and monitored.

Elements of this vision include a prosperous, safe, educated, happy, healthy, inclusive, well connected and welcoming multicultural community. Parks, cultural and lifestyle amenities will abound on the periphery of a revitalised and vibrant people-centric and liveable city.

Councillor Training

Three years experience as City of Greater Geelong Councilor and broad  diversity of committees;

Training and briefings from the COGG Governance team, Local Government Association, Municipal Association of Victoria and The Victorian Electoral Commission.

Graduate member of the Institute of Australian Directors 2018 (GAICD)

My Expertise and Qualities

I am resilient, adaptable, reliable and communicative. I provide quiet, stable leadership and , cohesive consultative and constructive collaboration.

I have capacity and experience in successfully leading complex operations with accountability to many stakeholders, including beneficiaries.

Professional qualifications are in engineering, science and the arts, and I possess a passion for well-being and healthy outdoor activities.

I have served as a Councillor for three years on the Geelong City Council.

Member of ALP (Portarlington Branch) - I have not sought or obtained its formal ALP endorsement to run. I always have and will think and act independently in the best interests of the residents and ratepayers and will judge issues on their merits.

Member of Green Club Geelong Arts Centre, Member of Geelong Gallery; Member of Geelong Library
